WHERE IS YOUR HEART?

Matthew 6:19-21

19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

We live in a time and society that has all of us planning, working, toiling and pressing forward each day.  Every moment of our time and efforts press us towards goals and a future we carefully attempt to plan for.  Some of  us are so engulfed and focused on these plans and the temporal benefits of the perceived outcomes our plans will achieve. However, as christians our existence is more than the time we have in this world. We must make an investment into eternity.

"HOW DO WE DO THIS?" you may ask!

We must shift our thoughts and priorities to the one who exists outside of time and calls us to become more than lovers of the treasures of this world. We must become a blessing to those around us and ensure that we are a image of God and light in a world of sin and darkness. It will take sacrifice, that when embraced, becomes a joy and pleasure in service. It will take selflessness as an example of Christ in this life.  It will take love, as God loves us he sacrificed his best so that we could taste eternity with Him.

These are the deposits of heaven.  Showing love, serving others and sharing the gospel with the lost,  enables the Holy Spirit to speak through us and our obedience to Christ. Put your heart in line with eternity.  Live a life that expresses the love of God by serving, and loving your neighbor as a direct reflection of the new spirit that is within you.

Be encouraged!

RETURN!

Luke 15:20 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. ________________________________________________   Some of us have struggled for so long with issues and the trappings of life that we have a desire to change, and break free, but we don’t know where to start.   We are also afraid of what it really means to be free from the struggle that has accompanied us for so long in our lives. . . We ask and say: “Well, Lord If I break free from, (adultery, obesity, smoking, lusting, alcohol, sex) what will I have to fight next? What will I have to focus on next?   I don’t know what freedom really feels like and that scares me!” These feelings are normal and truth be told, these feelings are some of the reasons we have relapsed back into our familiar activities.   However GOD has always been watching you.   Even before you accepted Christ and before you even a

COMFORT IN THE VALLEY!

Isaiah 40:30-31 New King James Version (NKJV) 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. In the short time that you have in this world you can expect to be tested. You should look for it and know that you will have valleys and mountain tops along the path that you walk as a Christian. It may seem that the path gets more and more narrow. It may seem that you come across another path that seems to lead you to easier terrain and a location with “greener grass”. Do not be fooled or discouraged. With each season of testing GOD allows you to experience, there will be a season of recovery and spiritual growth. When you are in your valley you can rest in the fact that you will have to go up a hill to reach the mountain top. And the higher the mountain top the longe

Never Lose You!

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? _____________________________________________________ The world would have you believe that it has all of the answers.   The world will tell you that what you see, hear, feel, touch and smell is all that is real and worth living for.   But you may not know or understand that living for the rewards of this world come at a cost.   The world’s influence, when used as the blueprint for living, takes your heart and shapes it to its will leaving you an empty shell of who you really are. Nothing in this world is worth changing who you are in Christ.   There is no middle ground in the issue.   Yes, we are all a work in progress and live in this world, but who we are is not dictated by anything or anyone in this world.   Who you are is worth more than whatever this world has to offer.   Do not chase the image the world is selling you.   Unless you live life fully expressing what Go
