PRIORITY

Exodus 20:3

You shall have no other gods before me.

________________________________________

We live in a world that offers a plethora of gods for us to serve.  Money, jobs, positions of power, sex and attention are a few that entangle the hearts and minds of many.  Now before you point the finger at those you think have this problem I would ask you to turn your attention towards yourself.  Even though we have the best intentions we are guilty of this.  Many of us have found other gods and placed them before the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in pursuit of the “American Dream”.  We seek more money, better bodies, jobs, and stability in a system that, when abused, causes us to stray from the values and sure footing of the gospel.  And since we have found a way to justify them with excuses draped in good intentions; we shackle ourselves in faith to them.  All the while God is shouting out to us and urging us to follow Him completely.

It is time that we all conduct a self assessment.  We must first be honest with ourselves before we can defend the faith.  How can we claim be faithful unto death if we are serving anything over God?  If we are not right with God completely in faith then all of our efforts will fail.  This first of Ten Commandments is the foundation and root to being successful and in agreement with the one who has called you into your destiny.  The blessings, goals, and “things” in your life need to be put in their place.  Nothing should come before serving and worshiping God.  Not your job, spouse, children, or position.  You must be willing to leave it all in order serve Him.   He wants you to choose Him first as He has chosen you.  Give God the highest place of Honor in your life.

HARVEST TIME!

Galatians 6:9 New International Version (NIV) 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Have you ever been working, waiting, or standing in the gap for anyone? In such times of testing and prayer did you ever think how easy it would be to give up? It seems that while we are going through we loose sight of the goal GOD has set before us! We focus on our discomfort and take the burden onto our own backs instead of leaning on GOD's everlasting arms. The struggle itself is not the problem. However, our main problem is our human condition. We cannot do it all on our own. We must constantly look in the mirror and remind ourselves that we are not alone. . . Ever! We must remember who our GOD is. GOD will never allow you to go through a problem without bringing you to your blessing. It may take more time than you would like to endure. However the outcome and harvest gained is what's needed. If you are ...

LOVE. . . EVEN WHEN IT HURTS!

John 4:7-8 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  _____________________________ It sounds so easy! “Love one another”! But it is a task that takes practice and the Holy Spirit working within us to accomplish.   IT is easy to love a friend or a family member. Those who are good to us make it easy. But what about our enemies? How can we love them?   This verse does not exclude our enemies.   Those who push our buttons need our love the most.   Those who we must pray for daily need to see Christ in each one of us.   And please remember to others we are that person that needs prayer as well. Bottom Line: Loving others the way GOD loves us is not an easy task. It takes the spirit of GOD working in side of us to accomplish.   It takes the death of the old us and the new nature of Christ living in...

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV). Do Not Grow Weary In Waiting!!! I have realized that we live in a society that has trained us to have everything "right now" and our way. We have become experts in getting our children to stop having temper tantrums. We grow weary when we even think about how long something may take. And the thought of working through a rough patch in our lives and marriages seems like the thing not to do. I mean!! Half of our marriages end in divorce. How can Christians fight for marri...
