For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. JERM 29:11
What is GOD Calling you to do. Are you seeking GOD's purpose for your own life or are you riding the coat tails of another?
For years I fought the call of minister and pastor because the calling ran in my family. I wondered "am I projecting my own will into my life?" Was I only following my earthly role models?
GOD does call us to respect and look to those soldiers in Christ that have answered their call of ministry. However GOD calls us to seek his will for our own lives. He has a special unique plan for each of us that is not designed after or a copy of someone else's.
We need to stop saying the following:
I want to be a pastor just like _______!
I want to bless other financially just like_______!
I want to be blessed just like ______!
We should say this instead:
I want to be like Christ when I become what GOD is calling me to be!
We need to realize that we should not covet anyone else's anything. We should pray for and expect the unique blessing and purpose GOD has for each of us! There should be no carbon copy Christians. The only person we should emulate is Christ. The only thing we should covet is the opportunity to serve the Father as Christ did. . . Even unto death! When you see someone who has arrived where you would like to go, listen to their testimony and learn from their journey. Know that there was a valley before they climbed the mountain and reached the summit. Keep in mind that their journey is not your journey and their mountain top is not yours. GOD has a path and assignment that is just for you. He picks his best soldiers for His toughest missions and of course he has a specific mission for you.
It doesn't matter if you mission is big or small. The only thing that matters is your commitment to it. Do not think that just because of your perceived small beginning that you will have a small finish. Also do not assume that the big finish is always a the best ending. The best ending is the one where you are filling the shoes that GOD has set before you. Be encouraged and know that no one can do what GOD is asking you to do, . . . Like you! Yes GOD can get it done without you but why should he have too. He has spent your whole life preparing you for this specific moment. It is your moment, . . . Your time. . . And your destiny!
I love you always and in all ways!
