And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation".
Mark 16:15
The enemy would like you to believe that your casual invite of a friend is enough to fulfill the "Great Commission". When you get some one to fill a seat in your weekly worship service do you feel good about getting them to come to church? Do you feel as if you have done enough?
Let me ask you this. . .. If you saw a child drowning in a pool what length would you go to save them? Would you only tell them to swim from the sideline? Would you go as far as to throw them a life line? Or would you consider jumping in and pulling them to the pools edge? What do you think their parents would want you to do? What would you do for your own child?
When we invite someone to church and rely on the pastor to lead them to Christ we are not doing everything we can to save that lost soul. We are not fulfilling the "Great Commission". It is not your pastor's responsibility to save every lost soul that you muster up to invite to Church; the responsibility to spread the gospel rests on every believer! Your pastor can lead people to Christ, however so can you! We are called to make disciples and to share the truth in GOD's word. The truth of the matter is "we" (as Christian) have a knowledge that can lead to salvation and true freedom. We share that truth via our lifestyle and the words of love spoken to our neighbors! When we substitute handing out church business cards for living a Christian lifestyle and sharing the Truth of Salvation, we fail to save those who are drowning around us. We fail to jump in and pull them to shore. We fail to put the truth of GOD in their hands for them to accept or reject.
In this failure we divert the responsibility and risk of rejection to our pastor. When the day of judgment comes your pastor will not be asked why he didn't lead everyone you invited to church to Christ. On the other hand, GOD will ask you why didn't you share the gospel with all those people that needed salvation. Most of our replies will be: "Well GOD I invited them to church!" Gods Reply will be: "So What! That is not what I told you to do!" God has told us to "GO" search for those who need to be saved and share the gospel with them! As Christians we are afraid to fail or to be rejected. Be encouraged! When you share Christ's truth and love and someone rejects it, they are not rejecting you. . . They are rejecting GOD! Remember when the Holy Spirit allows you the opportunity to share the gospel please respond in obedience. Leave the rest to the Holy Spirit!
Remember I love you always and in all ways!
