STAND!!

1 Corinthians 16:13

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong

We search for so many things to detain, and entertain us in this world. And the world has so much to offer us when it comes to entertainment.  But when we open our eyes and hearts to what this world has to offer we must remember to always keep our guard up.  “GUARD?” you may ask. . . . Yes keep your guard up.  My friends, via music, movies, and gossip we can allow all sorts of spirits into our lives.  We can be influenced, tutored, and swayed by what we here and see.   Consequently what we allow ourselves to be entertained by is what we will condone our children to watch and see.   You may say “I don’t let my kids see everything I see!”  But the fact remains that your children see and hear what you are doing!  Unfortunately this is the example that most children will follow.

The bible calls us to be men and women of courage! This means having the integrity to put away those things that we should not let entertain our flesh, and hinder our Christian walk.  When our children come home talking about something they have seen at school or on the internet that doesn’t fit in the pattern of Godly living that you are teaching them, please correct that behavior immediately.  It may seem trivial at times but it is what is necessary in order to stay on the path GOD has called you to be on.  It is ok to know what the world is selling. However do not buy into it.  Likewise do not buy what the world is selling only to give it to your children.

The bottom line is:  Do not settle your morals in the name of entertainment.  Do not idolize entertainers, their lifestyles, or their message.  Cling to what is GODLY and support those who do the same.  Let GOD’s spirit lead you to the message, music, movies, and lifestyle that pleases him.  By no means do you have to sacrifice music, or seeing movies!  However you should use a spirit of discernment when picking what music and movies to hear and see.  Be strong for yourself and your children! Stand on GOD’s word and live a life that is living proof of your stance.  Let what you do become an example and testimony to your commitment to GOD.

Be encouraged. I love you always and in all ways.

HARVEST TIME!

Galatians 6:9 New International Version (NIV) 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Have you ever been working, waiting, or standing in the gap for anyone? In such times of testing and prayer did you ever think how easy it would be to give up? It seems that while we are going through we loose sight of the goal GOD has set before us! We focus on our discomfort and take the burden onto our own backs instead of leaning on GOD's everlasting arms. The struggle itself is not the problem. However, our main problem is our human condition. We cannot do it all on our own. We must constantly look in the mirror and remind ourselves that we are not alone. . . Ever! We must remember who our GOD is. GOD will never allow you to go through a problem without bringing you to your blessing. It may take more time than you would like to endure. However the outcome and harvest gained is what's needed. If you are ...

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV). Do Not Grow Weary In Waiting!!! I have realized that we live in a society that has trained us to have everything "right now" and our way. We have become experts in getting our children to stop having temper tantrums. We grow weary when we even think about how long something may take. And the thought of working through a rough patch in our lives and marriages seems like the thing not to do. I mean!! Half of our marriages end in divorce. How can Christians fight for marri...

LOVE. . . EVEN WHEN IT HURTS!

John 4:7-8 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  _____________________________ It sounds so easy! “Love one another”! But it is a task that takes practice and the Holy Spirit working within us to accomplish.   IT is easy to love a friend or a family member. Those who are good to us make it easy. But what about our enemies? How can we love them?   This verse does not exclude our enemies.   Those who push our buttons need our love the most.   Those who we must pray for daily need to see Christ in each one of us.   And please remember to others we are that person that needs prayer as well. Bottom Line: Loving others the way GOD loves us is not an easy task. It takes the spirit of GOD working in side of us to accomplish.   It takes the death of the old us and the new nature of Christ living in...
