Committed

Ruth 1:16 But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.   Have you ever, just once, been fully committed to something or someone? Have you totally lost yourself In support of a mission, person or purpose? In an instant the thoughts of self-glory and preservation fade into the background. What takes its place is a purpose that is larger than you. The world will never understand this type of commitment fully. For at its roots is the message and Spirit of GOD. When you get married you are representing a symbol of this commitment. To become a Christian and embrace GOD as the center of your world and to live a life of expression to that fact is the fruit that represents this lifelong commitment. When you truly encounter the reality of the Kingdom of GOD you realize the price of your citizenship. You realize GOD has extended himself fu...

THE HEART OF THE MATTER!

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. When you speak, teach, walk and talk in this world, are you being honest?    I do not mean to ask are you blatantly lying to everyone you encounter. Rather I mean to ask, what you portray on the outside, is it what lies beneath the shell you let everyone see?   I know that in each of us there is a place that only GOD knows.   Inside your heart, and desires, is there a relation to what you allow people to view?                    As you walk with GOD,  His Spirit on the inside should begin to match what you strive for on the outside.   That place only GOD knows . . . be it good, bad, sweet, or sour will be moved and changed to match the heart of GOD.   In this way, how you act and what’s in your heart will begin to meet.   To many of us treat our f...

TEMPORARY MOMENTS

Psalm 39:4-5, 7   "Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered-how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you."     Some people hope for things.   Things that in the end will not give them joy or take the place that GOD should have.   These things influence their actions and dictate what goals and achievements they set for themselves. For instance a pastor or congregational body that views their building as a symbol of how successful they are. Or a man who feels as if he is measured by the number of zero's on his paycheck, or the woman who finds her strength in her outward appearance or superb intellect.   These things are fleeting and like life are only for a certain time.   What we s...

EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!!!!

Matthew 13:44 "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.                 What do you treasure? In this life your actions will give proof of what is closest to your heart. Whether if it is money, sex, family, or success it will manifest in where you spend the majority of your time. As you traverse through the corridors of your life the lessons learned along the way will shift your focus to new realities and passions.   If you get married and have children you naturally will begin to think long-term and prepare for a future that includes your spouse and children. If you begin a career of professional sports you will invest in coaches and trainers to perfect your skill and talent. All these things deal with the temporary and temporal things...

GROW UP!

Ephesians 4:14   Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. There must come a time in every person’s life when our childhood and its nature must pass away. We must make it our goal to grow in Christ. We must learn the lessons that GOD presents to us via the events in our lives. I call upon every person to grow up in Christ. I call for everyone to study GOD’s Word, and stand firm in the truth that is revealed, live the message, and share the love within its pages.   Stand firm on its truth and listen to every preacher that preaches, teacher that teaches discerning their words against the truth in the word of GOD. Stop relying on your pastor to show you a revelation. It is not your pastor’s responsibility to ensure that you grow in Christ. He is there to serve his flock and to guide you in your walk with Christ. Howeve...

YOU ARE RENEWED!

Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a nw creature: old things are passed away; behold all thi ngs are become new." How do you answer the following Question? WHO ARE YOU? Do you answer that question based on your past actions? Do you formulate your answer considering your current situation?   When you look within yourself and the mirror of your soul, who or what is staring back at you?   The bible says that a person's life is more valuable than all the riches in the world. Even with your past and current struggles, GOD values you. GOD does not see you as the person you were. He only sees you through Christ, the author and finisher of your faith. Jesus has filled the gap between your past and your glorious future.   Why live defeated? Why put your mind and effort into justifying your past. Why let the memory of the dark times in your life rule over you.   Satan uses the shadow of your past to create strongholds that keep yo...

CONTAGIOUS!!

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law   Emotions and attitudes are contagious.   If   have a negative mood, it is almost guaranteed that my wife and then my children will follow suit. Negativity is like a cancer that infiltrates the hearts and minds of those who come in contact with it.    Haven’t you worked with that one person who is negative and spreads the down side of every situation to point contagion?    The Bible says: Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,   If you take a moment to seriously ask yourself. . .”am I that person”?   Do I reflect the Fruit of the Spirit or do lose all credibility when I complain?   When we constantly complain we spread an atmosphere of unrest and negativity. What type of reputation are we buildin...
