Ephesians 4:14
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and
forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by
the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
There must come a time in every person’s life when
our childhood and its nature must pass away. We must make it our goal to grow
in Christ. We must learn the lessons that GOD presents to us via the events in
our lives. I call upon every person to grow up in Christ. I call for everyone
to study GOD’s Word, and stand firm in the truth that is revealed, live the
message, and share the love within its pages.
Stand firm on its truth and listen to every preacher that preaches, teacher
that teaches discerning their words against the truth in the word of GOD. Stop
relying on your pastor to show you a revelation. It is not your pastor’s
responsibility to ensure that you grow in Christ. He is there to serve his
flock and to guide you in your walk with Christ. However it is your
responsibility to choose that walk each day and make a commitment to grow in
Christ. Your pastor will preach, teach, pray, serve, and minister to you, but
you must apply that preaching, learn from that teaching, and follow the example
of service presented by your pastor’s leadership. You should be secure in your own walk with Christ
to the point to recognize false teachers, and preachers trying to lead you into
opposition with GOD’s word.
Question:
Would you know false teaching if you heard it?
Just like Eve in the garden Satan whispers to us
daily. He wraps lies inside the word of
GOD to lead us astray and cause confusion amongst the faithful of Christ. Believe
me Satan has a lot more knowledge in GOD’s word than most of us. He has practiced
twisting GOD’s words and intentions since the beginning. He causes us to focus on the wrong things and
wants us arguing over what ultimately stops us from living out the true meaning
and nature of the Gospel.
Bottom line read the word of GOD for yourself. Do
not become lazy in your walk with GOD. That way when you are faced with those who
oppose or teach false teachings of the faith, you can be prepared with an
answer and defend the word of GOD. Do not let the ways of this world discourage
you. Grow up in Christ and defend the faith.
I love you always and in all ways.
Rev. M. Harrison.
