Isaiah
40:30-31
New King James Version (NKJV)
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
In the short time that you have in this world you can
expect to be tested. You should look for it and know that you will have valleys
and mountain tops along the path that you walk as a Christian. It may seem that
the path gets more and more narrow. It may seem that you come across another
path that seems to lead you to easier terrain and a location with “greener
grass”. Do not be fooled or discouraged. With each season of testing GOD allows
you to experience, there will be a season of recovery and spiritual growth.
When you are in your valley you can rest in the fact that
you will have to go up a hill to reach the mountain top. And the higher the
mountain top the longer you will endure the climb to reach the summit. That climb is the time of growth and recovery.
You may ask “How do I recover while climbing a hill?” . . . That is easy! As
you climb GOD is actually carrying you. In fact, in the valley and up the hill
GOD has his hands on you, pushing and sustaining you. Your feelings can deceive
you. When you think you are at your lowest is usually the start of your ascent
to the summit GOD has prepared for you. As the word of GOD states, when you wait (look
for, rely upon, find hope in) on the Lord you’ll be restored and filled with a
fresh outlook on your situation and fly above the problem and reach the
mountain top.
One more thing! Once you reach the mountain top look back at
the ground GOD has allowed you to cover. Look back at the valleys and other
peaks you have stood upon. Praise GOD for his real and ever present move in
your live. It is hard to do when you are going through. We seem to forget what
GOD has delivered us from while we are in the midst of our valleys. So I urge you when you are on the summits of
life please praise GOD just as hard as when you are in the valleys of life. Be encouraged! No matter where you are today,
on the mountain top, or in the valley of the shadow of death; GOD is with you
and will carry you through. Have faith and wait on the Lord!
I love you always and in all ways.
