1 Samuel 17:45-47
45 David said to the Philistine,
“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you
in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies
of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver
you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very
day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild
animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
47 All those gathered
here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he
will give all of you into our hands.”
Chances are you are, have been, or
will face something that appears to be larger than life. Whether it’s a new job, boss, circumstance,
or living situation, it will come. The
outlook from your human eye that is centered in your flesh will be overwhelmed.
And for a moment you will only feel as if failure is your only option.
Even though we don’t act like it,
we all know better. We have all been in
a tight spot before. We all have had the
enemy try to take us out. And yet, by the Grace of GOD, here we are. Still standing! And if we look in pages of
our past we will see the mountains we have climbed, the rivers we have crossed
and the giants we have chopped down. GOD
, through His Spirit has carried us, guided the rock of our defense and has
positioned us to succeed, even when we feel defeated.
Like a spring we are the most
powerful when we are pushed to our lowest point. God has allowed life to hold
some of us back to let us become more dependent on him and his strength and
power to build in our situation. Do not
back down or run away from the giants in your path that mock and threaten
you. Do the hard work and face
them. Take the fight to it and bring the
Lord with you. Fight in Spirit and in
truth. This means to use the Word of GOD
as a guide and weapon against any situation that comes against you. This is the only weapon that is effective in conquering
the self-doubt and failed self-preservation that so many depend upon.
Be encouraged and trust in GOD. Remember even when you feel that all air is
gone and the room is closing in God is there.
When you feel as if there is no way out GOD is the door. When you feel as if you have done all you can
GOD will do more. He will save you, take
you, and protect you from the things that would destroy you. He will use those things to make you better,
stronger and closer to Him.
Trust Him to succeed in all things!
I love you always and in all ways.
